Riva Grill on the Lake

Awesome food! :) This place was perfection for us. We had a small reception (15 total people). I brought a few items over the day before the wedding (a few framed pictures, knife/cake server, cake topper, champagne flutes) and my contact Amanda gladly kept them in her office until the next day and they were put out perfectly. We were upstairs -- it was a Sunday night -- just a perfect evening. They even packaged up the top layer of the cake, cleaned the serving set, champagne flutes -- and really took care of everything. I walked out of the reception holding hands with my husband and a small purse dangling from my shoulder. Riva Grille did a fabulous job. I even got a card from them just this past week thanking us and saying it was a pleasure being our reception dinner site. :) Love the small touches.

We had our wedding reception at Riva Grill in July 2010. We initially were in contact with Corrie, but then Amanda took over. Both ladies were very helpful and pleasant to speak to. My husband and I live in Los Angeles and would communicate with Riva Grill via phone and email -- had zero problems with this form of communication. The Downside: their tasting is in the amount of whatever you order. None of the amount spent is compensated toward the reception. So basically, there is no tasting. The ONLY other downside to our reception was cutting the cake. They had offered to cut the rest of the cake up to serve our guests. We had a total of 39 guests and the cut pieces were not cleanly cut. My family member's slices of cake looked more like scraps. Some of our guests later stated that the servers were eating the cake while the guests were eating the cake. Although there was plenty of cake to go around (the cake was big enough to serve 60 people), I do wish they (Riva Grill), could have at least served our guests the cake properly first.The Upside: Overall, we were still very pleased with the arrangement. Our guests loved the food that was served -- many were very impressed with their fillet mignon. The set-up was exactly how we asked; the servers were nice, pleasant and professional. But most importantly, both Corrie and Amanda made sure that our day was going to be amazing and they certainly helped us achieve our goal. Thanks!

Great place, wonderful view. Super nice and friendly staffs. Food was GREAT!!!! We all had a wonderful time.

Where do I start? They changed the menu on me several times and raised the prices of the "per person" due to "market prices" after the contract was signed. Two weeks before the wedding they took off a shrimp item and tried to say if I wanted it I would have to pay extra for it. They talked me out of doing the two bottles of wine per table on my tab that I originally wanted. I saw the wait staff pouring wine into empty wine glasses and guess who got the bill? I think you get the picture

This was an absolutely fabulous venue for our reception. I highly recommend them for any size party. The location is fantastic and the service was unrivaled.
