When I first went to A Beautiful Bride, I was very happy with the service I received. One employee in particular was very helpful, even coming in on her day off to help me the second time I went to try on dresses and order THE ONE. However, between ordering my dress and picking it up, the store moved to a new location and changed owners. I had been given an estimated date as to when my dress would be ready, and when I hadn't heard anything several weeks after that date I called the store. They said that yes my dress was there and because I hadn't picked it up yet they had been charging me to store it! I dealt with that problem over the phone and told them when I would be in to pick up the dress. Upon arrival on pick-up day, the girl at the counter couldn't be bothered to even acknowledge that I was there. Once we had her attention, she tried to charge me the unpaid balance and hand me a heavy dress, without even letting me SEE the dress. Who knows what could have been in the bag!? I asked to try the dress on to make sure it fit, at which point she merely gestured in the direction of the fitting rooms. Having not been to the new store, I had to ask her where they were more clearly. She acted very put upon when she had to get up and lead us to the dressing room, while I carried my heavy dress. She then abandoned us, leaving my two bridesmaids to figure out how to get me in the dress that the wonderful employee had always helped me with before. Once in the dress, we then had to search for the mirrors ourselves, and got out of there as soon as we had determined that it fit. Needless to say, I didn't have their in-house seamstress do my alterations, nor did I ever order the extra fabric I was going to make cap sleeves with. I most certainly will not take my dress back to them to clean, nor will I let any of my friends buy their wedding dresses there.
We originally were quite pleased because the shop owner gave us a discount on the BM dresses. However, as we got into the nitty gritty, this vendor became difficult to work with at times, and we pulled our tux order because of it. We felt we needed less stress over it and a "more together" shop. There were several people in the shop that were very helpful, such as Brittany and Fran. But it seemed as if there was no communication between employees so when we called no one knew what we were talking about. I ordered a swatch of my dress fabric, and though I followed up many times with the store and they always told me it was on it's way, I never got it. I just gave up.
Jan is the seamstress that works with A Beautiful Bride. She was absolutely wonderful, as were all of the other employees who helped me try on dresses and look in books and figure out what was right for me.
